BLUE
STAR TRAINING PROGRAM
Our very best training program to be added
prior
to placement.
The BLUE STAR Program
includes primary housetraining. Our emphasis is on motivational and
praise
techniques using positive reinforcement techniques.
What you can expect with
the Housetraining
phase of this course:
- The pup will
be brought into our home, be taught general “in home” manners;
- No jumping on
the beds or furniture
- No jumping on
the family or guests
- Sit for
greetings
- No “stealing”
food from the counters
- No digging in
the trash no chewing on chair legs
And generally” NO” to
anything that can be deemed a bad habit later on. He will be given his
own set
of toys, consisting of a tennis ball, a chew bone a knotted rope toy
and a soft
squeaker toy to nap with. Most all will be sent home with him. He will
be
placed on regulated feed schedules, varying no more than one half hour.
After
awakening from each nap, and after each meal, he will be brought
outside to the
“potty spot.” After complete elimination- he will immediately be
rewarded,
using pleasant high-pitched tones, along with lots of physical praise.
At no
point- and I do mean at no point, do we ever leave the young puppy
alone
unsupervised. If an accident did occur at that time, it could set the
pup back
weeks in training. We do not teach the dog “after” the accident has
already
happened- but rather “the toilet area is outside and only outside;
the
correct way from the beginning.
Obedience Training:
This phase of the course
includes:
- Heeling on loose lead
- Automatic
sits
whenever you stop
- Stay (hand signal and
verbal)
- Recall (come on command)
- Sit, (hand signal and
verbal)
This course will be given
at trips to the park, where your puppy will be walked through crowds,
crossed
through traffic, heeling and sitting properly at all times. He will
also have
“free time" to enjoy as he will, relaxing under the tree with his
trainer
on beautiful park grounds or stopping to receive a pat on the head from
a small
child.
Travel
Training:
This phase of the course
is taught on both long and short trips to parks, shopping centers,
homes of
friends, relatives and neighbors, trips to the Post Office, while
picking up
the kids at the bus stop or driving around the ranch. In the vehicle he
will
learn to sit or lay on the seat calmly, without jumping in your lap, or
“helping you drive.”
All training course
include medical completion, professional weekly nail trims, and routine
inoculations.
- Program begins: age 8
weeks
- Course duration: 6 weeks
- Cost: $1400.
Additional
courses can be
added to continue training and teach new commands. The down is taught
no sooner
than Course # 2, as it is the most submissive command to a dog, and we
like to
have full confidence built up in our young pups before asking
them to
“down.” Each additional 6 weeks course will also reiterate and polish
all
previous training, and allow us to further enhance the level on
training your
puppy can benefit from here at Amaris.
RED STAR TRAINING PROGRAM
Welcome
to “Puppy Boot Camp”
Pre-purchase
training is a great way to add some training prior to placement in your
home.
It will eliminate that “sitting down” or “lunging ahead” that puppies
can do
when first introduced to the leash, which can lead to a poor experience
for
both of you.
By
adding this course, you can snap on your leash, command “heel” and off
you go!
Stop, your puppy will automatically sit down. Command “stay” with a
hand
signal, and he is right there where you asked him to be. Call him now,
using
his name, and he’s on his way!
The
Red Star Training Program offers basic on leash obedience. We will
teach your
puppy :
- heel on
a loose lead, on command
- automatic
sit when you stop
- stay
(hand signal and verbal)
- recall
(come on command)
- sit
(hand signal and verbal)
Medical
completion will be continued at no additional cost.
- Start
date: age 8 weeks
- Course
duration: 4 weeks
- Cost:
$900.00
